Hauck Botanic Garden: 2024 In Review
In 2024, we achieved Level 1 Arboretum Status, added nearly a thousand native plants to our grounds, installed and renovated several gardens, ordered interpretive signage and began the process of mapping the plants in our collection, laying the groundwork for what will become an online guide to Hauck Botanic Garden.
Conservation: 2024 In Review
We grew more than 4,000 native plants, trees and shrubs as part of our ReRooted program in 2024, shifted the focus of our Walnut Woods of Evanston restoration site and developed and ran Cincinnati Conservation Stewards with Cincinnati Parks.
Urban Agriculture: 2024 In Review
We were deeply involved with our community garden network in 2024, supporting them through resources and education as well as teaching free Hub Garden classes in them. We also ran two large training series: Community Garden Development Training (CGDT) and Market Garden Training (MGT).
Youth Education: 2024 In Review
From school gardens to our grounds and from K-12 students to summer campers to toddlers, we connected with hundreds of children and the educators who teach them to help forge the foundations of a lifelong connection with nature.
Volunteering: 2024 In Review
Last year, our volunteer force of 1,200 individuals put in more than 5,200 hours at Hauck Botanic Garden, in community gardens, at conservation sites, during field trips and educational opportunities for youth and in support of our two annual plant festivals. There are so many accomplishments to highlight!
Classes & Events: 2024 In Review
2024 saw a shift from THE Plant Sale to GrowFest in the spring. We also held our Fall Native Plant Festival and Winter Open House and offered continuing education opportunities and classes at the CGC as well as out in the community.
