Hands On at Hauck

  • Civic Garden Center 2715 Reading Rd Cincinnati, OH, 45206 United States (map)

Join CGC Horticulturist Julie for some hands-on gardening experience at the Hauck Botanic Garden. This 100-year-old public park serves as our outdoor classroom and the backdrop for everything we do. And it’s all thanks to volunteers like you!

Today we’ll be mucking out the koi pond in our Serenity Garden! One lucky volunteer will get to don a pair of rubber waders and dive in to clear out old leaves and grime. The fish say thank you! Meanwhile, the rest of us will be weeding the beds and getting the park ready to shine for GrowFest.

No prior knowledge or skills needed. Whether you’re totally new to gardening or have many years of experience this workday is for you! The ability to kneel and use hand tools is recommended but not required. Please bring gloves if you have them and a water bottle. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty. All other tools and materials will be provided.

Detailed information will be sent to registered participants, so keep an eye out!

Want to join us? Make sure you’re registered as a CGC volunteer, then…

Please reach out to volunteer@civicgardencenter.org with any questions.
