Essential Garden Herbs

  • The Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati 2715 Reading Road Cincinnati, OH, 45206 United States (map)

This event is sold out. See our full list of classes here!

Learn about the wide world of herbs! Gardening with herbs is a satisfying way to freshen up your favorite recipes, cultivate natural medicines and foster ecologically sound gardening methods. It also builds our respect for plants and, in turn, for the ecology all around us. And here in Ohio, many herbs grow well in our gardens and will come back year after year!

In this class, you'll learn about the basics of growing and using herbs for tea, culinary creations, medicinal salves and natural cleaning products. We'll brew some teas, taste some common herbs and discuss recipes to try at home. You'll will leave with a set of seeds to kickstart your own herb garden.

Families and children ages 8 and up are welcome to join this workshop.

Presenter: Mary Dudley, CGC Sustainability & Ecology Education Coordinator
Cost: $20 / $15 for active volunteers and community gardeners
