Treeforestation at Walnut Hills High School
Our Treeforestation project at Walnut Hills High School is a 10-acre forest adjacent to the school, now an official Cincinnati Park known as Walnut Woods of Evanston. The project is a partnership between the Civic Garden Center, Walnut Hills High School, Cincinnati Parks (which owns the site) and the Evanston Community Council. Since the CGC got involved in 2019, we have worked with students and volunteers to remove large numbers of invasive plants and turn the site into a usable outdoor educational space for the school and the larger community.
