Rosa carolina
Pasture Rose
Pasture Rose grows best in moist, sunny locations where it reaches a rambling size of 3 ft tall and wide and can form larger thickets.
Older branches are covered in narrow prickles.
Bright pink flowers bloom in mid spring.
Roses are members of the apple family, and their fruits—called hips—can be made into jelly, syrup, spreads and a sweet floral tea. They are high in Vitamin C and other nutrients and have also been used to treat heartburn and indigestion.
