Walnut Hills Garden Tour Field Trip

Peek into four thriving gardens in the historic Walnut Hills area of Cincinnati and meet the coordinators that make it look easy. Learn what each garden is growing, donating, and mission is as a community garden in the Civic Garden Center's Community Garden Network.

We will begin our Field Trip with Gary Dangel at the Taft Community Garden where he will explain the mission of his garden and his extraordinary composting efforts. Next we will walk to meet Meghan Henshaw and explore all of the wonderful medicinal herbs at her garden on Melrose Ave. Before our last garden visit, we will stop at Lyric's thriving garden and learn about pests and pollinators. Our last stop will be on Concord at Betty's Garden where she will introduce you to her aquaponics feature she uses in her garden.

We will convene at the historic 5 Points Alley where we will enjoy a cool beverage made with some of the herbs, produce, and fruit from the gardens you toured and from other Civic Garden Center Gardens.
