As the Youth Education Coordinator, Ellie provides hands-on learning opportunities for students—in gardens on their school grounds, at the Civic Garden Center or near their summer camps. She also supports the CGC's regional School Garden Network of educators by providing resources and trainings.

Living in Brooklyn and participating in her neighborhood's community garden fostered Ellie’s passion for combining gardening, education and support for local food growers. After four years, she returned to Cincinnati to pursue this interest at Turner Farm, then followed an opportunity to manage a small farm in New Zealand for a year. Prior the joining the CGC, Ellie taught outdoor education and led youth summer camps at Imago. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Earlham College in Human Development and Social Relations and German.
