Building Community Award Logo

Established in 2018, the “Building Community” award recognizes individuals in the Greater Cincinnati area whose life and/or work exemplifies the mission of the Civic Garden Center: “building community through gardening, education and environmental stewardship.”

About the Award

This award is typically presented annually at a special event held in late winter or early spring. Honorees receive a special gift and are featured in the CGC newsletter. Proceeds from the event are added to the CGC’s unrestricted endowment, which supports all CGC program areas.

Nomination Process:  Nominations should be submitted by October 1st to the CGC’s Development Director.  Additional letters of support for nominees are encouraged. Current members of the CGC’s staff or Board of Directors are not eligible to be nominated.

Decision Process:  All nominations will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the CGC and comprised of representatives from the CGC staff, Board, and/or volunteer base. The decision on person(s) to be honored will be made no later than November 1st for the following year’s award.
