Asclepias incarnata
Swamp Milkweed
This native perennial prefers full sun and wet soil but is tolerant of a variety of conditions once established due to its deep tap root. It grows in upright clusters about 3 or 4 feet high.
Produces pink flowers in summer that are highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
Milkweeds are the sole host plants for Monarch caterpillars, although they are toxic to people and other animals.
Deer resistant.
