Asclepias incarnata
Swamp Milkweed

  • This native perennial prefers full sun and wet soil but is tolerant of a variety of conditions once established due to its deep tap root. It grows in upright clusters about 3 or 4 feet high.

  • Produces pink flowers in summer that are highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.

  • Milkweeds are the sole host plants for Monarch caterpillars, although they are toxic to people and other animals.

  • Deer resistant.
