Urban Agriculture: 2023 In Review
In 2023, we changed the name of this program from Community Gardens to Urban Agriculture to better reflect our efforts around food and access. In addition to supporting our community garden network, we also taught HUB Garden classes, ran CGDT and more.
Youth Education: 2023 In Review
Having our Youth Education Coordinator out on maternity leave for the spring didn’t slow us down! We offered our Compost Kids field trips, ran Summer Sprouts for two camps, taught school-based garden lessons and even started a free drop-in program called Lil’ Sprouts for kids ages 3 to 8.
Green Teens: 2023 In Review
From a small pilot program in 2022, our Green Teens program grew to include a year-round challenge with hundreds of submissions, short-term internships for high school students and STEM-focused field studies for students in grades 7 to 12.
Conservation: 2023 In Review
For our Conservation program, 2023 was a year of existing programs and new partnerships. From Treeforestation and ReRooted to Cincinnati Conservation Stewards and the Urban Restoration Coalition, it was a productive year!
Volunteering: 2023 In Review
2023 was our first year using our Volunteer Teams, and we loved being able to better match our volunteers up with opportunities that fit their interests. From community gardens and conservation to our grounds, events and field trips, we were able to accomplish so much together!
Classes & Events: 2023 In Review
In 2023, we focused on ensuring our classes and events fit our mission and our community’s wants and needs. We also taught more classes than any other year since the pandemic, reinvented two major events and more!
