Lenten Rose

  • A very early blooming perennial originally from Central Asia.

  • Late winter flowers come in a rainbow of colors and last through spring.

  • Foliage is evergreen and plants will form clumps 1 foot tall by 3 feet wide and will spread through seed over time.

  • Best grown in part to full shade and rich, well-drained soil.

  • Deer resistant. 

  • Horticulturist’s Notes: Cut back spend flowers and brown or tattered leaves in late spring to promote new foliage growth.
