This workday will be hosted at the Pendleton Children’s Garden. In addition to being used by community members, this garden also hosts our Summer Sprouts programming all summer long. Come fall, we have some projects that will help get the garden ready for another great growing season!
Projects for this workday will include weeding and fixing up the flower garden beds. We'll be reclaiming the back area of the garden that needs to be cardboarded and mulched. The garden has some vine pressure that we'll be attacking as well. Finally, we'll be doing some fall planting! Overall, this garden was well loved all summer long and could use a good trim-back.
Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Please also bring a reusable water bottle and gloves, if you have them (otherwise some will be provided).
Parking for the garden can be a little tough. There's free parking available outside of the garden on E 13th Street and Broadway (see map below). If interested in carpooling, please reach out to Kaela Khan at volunteer@civicgardencenter.org to arrange meeting at the CGC before the workday and heading to the garden together.
